Shipyard: Pumpkinhead

image

Besides Dogfish Head: Punkin this is my favorite pumpkin beer. I don’t like pumpkin pie, pumpkin seeds, and never imagined I would enjoy anything pumpkin! BUT, pumpkin beer is damn good. It’s has great cinnamon, and nutmeg flavor but is extremely balanced. If you’re looking for a pumpkin beer to try, this is a great one to start with! I give it a 3.5 out of 5 while BeerAdvocate gives it a C.

Lions, Tigers and Beers!

Lions, Tigers and Beers! For some reason, A LOT of beer is consumed every time I go to Tampa. This past weekend I made the trip out west to enjoy WaZoo, Cigar City Brewery, and Tampa Bay Brewing. Yeah I know it’s about 3 hours away, but would you pass up a trip to visit one of the nation’s best breweries and a beer festival at a zoo? Didn’t think so. Click HERE for a full review of WaZoo, Cigar City Brewing, and Tampa Bay Brewery plus tons of photos.

The Devil Is In My Beer!!!

We’ve all seen the photo’s of Jesus popping up in random things, foil on a beer bottle, toast, vines, an iron, and god knows what other crap. I didn’t get Jesus… I got the Devil. Sounds crazy but look at the photo. Click Here For The FULL SIZE Photo

"Thank You" Sign At Florida Beer Company

Tired of working that boring 9 to 5 job? Ready for something SO much better? It’s called Beerticking. What exactly is it? It’s trying as many different beers as you can and document every one of them. I’m ready to drop everything, grab a camera, and try as many beers as I can! Hulu has a cool documentary a group from England who spend a good deal of their time trying different beers. One guy has tried over 40,000+ different beers. I’m at just over 500, I need to start drinking more to catch up. Big thank you to Brent at House of Brews/A Picky Gourmet for turning me on to this.

Christmas in July

Round One

Round Two

We had a phenomenal time the other night at Vine and Barley’s Christmas in July. Six Christmas seasonal beers were on tap: Clipper City: Winter Storm, Bell’s: Christmas Ale, Brasserie Lefèbvre: Barbar Winter Bock, The Bruery: 3 French Hens, Sierra Nevada: Celebration Imperial IPA, and Avery: The Czar Imperial Stout. I tried them all, plus a few other new ones on tap. Brent and his wife Lenita from House of Brews/A Picky Gourmet joined Katie and I for some brews. Of course I’ve got Photos and Beer Reviews.
